Heritage Exmoor Pony Festival

AH Saddle are proud sponsors of the Heritage Pony Festival. This year's Heritage Exmoor Pony Festival will run from 1st to 31st August 2016. It is being organised by the Exmoor farmers and herd owners, land owners, pony owners and enthusiasts involved in the Moorland Exmoor Pony Breeders Group (MEPBG), Exmoor Pony Club and Moorland Exmoor Foal Project. The aim of the festival is to celebrate and promote the pedigree, purebred and cross-bred Exmoor ponies of Exmoor National Park, and beyond, as well as find good opportunities for foals coming off the moors in the autumn. Four Strap Girthing and Fitting Wider, Flatter Horses

I often get asked about our four strap girthing and why we provide it on many of our saddles. We supply four straps as this design offers an additional range of girthing options, especially in fitting wider flatter types of horses. The front point strap is particularly useful as it allows the saddle when it is girthed up to sit on the vertical rather than the diagonal. This aspect can help prevent the saddle from running forwards and keep a saddle comfortably in place. In addition, in general wider flatter breeds are more likely to have a forward girth groove.
